That is why we have compiled this guide for you, so you can see exactly what you need to know as well as helping you to make the right decision, the first time around.

You need to make sure that you are choosing a day care centre that has the right amenities for your needs, or the needs of your relative. This may include a function room for board games or weekly events such as flower arranging or arts and crafts. Either way, by looking at the interests of your relative you can be sure to find something that will really make them happy and most of the time, the staff members would be more than happy to show you around the care centre as well.

  1. We are actually starting to look for centres for my grandparents (I’m an only child and my parents passed away). thanks for posting this, as we had no idea how to go about searching for a good one. I’ve also seen some that offer pickup and dropoff services, which is ideal, as they are getting doubtful as to their driving skills. thanks for sharing this. Hopefully we can find a good one.

  2. My grandfather went through all three stages of Alzheimer’s. One thing that we looked for in adult day care services were centers that emphasized on retaining metal faculties. One center even offered dancing, which my grandfather loved; and, dancing is a fantastic way to stay physically and mentally active. Amenities like this can make a big difference in choosing the right adult day care for your loved one.

  3. I think it’s really good that there are so many services out there and specific needs can be met almost everywhere. I think one of the most important things is keeping them happy and quality of life up, so I think events and games are a really good idea.
